Rebecca Davis is an education policy PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. As a former public school teacher with experience teaching in three states, Rebecca is interested in the ways education policy and social policy intersect to mitigate the material hardships of poverty to increase access to high quality education. These policies include housing policy, nutrition programs, and access to medical and mental health care. 

Rebecca specializes in quantitative methods with a focus on economic evaluation. She has advanced training and significant experience with the ingredients method as a member of the Center for Benefit Cost Studies of Education team. Rebecca has worked on small and large scale cost studies, including work on IES funded grants. She has experience with both randomized control trials and econometric methods of causal inference. 

As an active researcher Rebecca has a significant and growing body of education research. In addition to her K-12 teaching experience, Rebecca has taught master's level course work in Economics of Education and Methods of Economic Evaluation of Education, both at the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Rebecca is anticipated to defend her dissertation in the Spring of 2022.
